Now with pictures

Tried to post an update yesterday, but blogger wasn't cooperating. Had OB appt- no progress. Disappointed, but dealing with it since I have no choice!

Stayed home today to get some rest, so I am in bed using the laptop! Wanted to post my 37 week pic Todd took yesterday:

Here is 37 weeks with Annie:

and 37 weeks with Riley:

Still only about 20 lbs weight gain, so I gained quite a bit more with Riley, but my belly is bigger with Annie- she is all baby! The good news is she is measuring right on target (she had been measuring big), but her growth has slowed...don't think she has any more room!

I am almost at the point that I had Riley..think she was 37w3days, so two more days and then I will be the most pregnant I have ever been!! Still hoping for a July baby!!!

More from the trenches

It's Sunday night.

No baby.

Nothing at all yesterday- had some serious contractions this morning. Riley and I were getting ready to head over to Grams and Gramps for a change of scenery since we spent the whole weekend cooped up in the house- my fault, not hers- and Todd almost didn't let me go. But we did- and it was nice. Riley slept a little later this morning, so she didn't have much of a nap today- she claims she didn't sleep at all, but I think she did...at least I got a little snooze in.

She and Todd are at the pool right now- think he felt bad for me since she and I have been together nonstop for 2 1/2 days!!! :) Not that I mind it so much, but I needed a little break from the non-stop chatter. Seriously, the girl can talk!! :)

So, I might head to work for a few hours tomorrow- unless tonight is the night- and then I have an OB appt in the afternoon- one I was hoping not to keep. At least I can get checked again...I am determined to have this baby in July. People are already having to change their birth date guesses....I know this could be a whole lot worse- I am not even officially term yet (TOMORROW!!!!), but I am so ready to meet her- I just want to see so badly what she looks like, and hold her in my arms....it will be soon, I know!

Close call....

I think last night was a close call for us...maybe Annie really is trying to tell me something and it is not just my imagination or wishful thinking!

I didn't feel well all day. I was able to get a little more sleep after Todd left with Riley in the morning, but was just crampy and had some intestinal yuckies in the morning. I was able to make it at work all day, but was just exhausted when I got home. Luckily, Todd had a big lunch, so I only had to feed Riley and myself, and then they headed up to the pool so I could lay down. I was having some contractions while we ate, but then when I went upstairs, they were coming more and more. I started timing them, and some were 2-3 minutes apart, and averaging probably no more than about 5 minutes apart! Lasted for an hour or two, and then just started petering out...so we didn't do anything. I wasn't comfortable all night long- I even slept on the couch half the night because I was keeping Todd awake (and that is pretty hard to do!)

I am pretty sure if I had called the OB they would have told me to come in...but my bag still isn't packed and I just wasn't ready! But...I intend to pack my bag tonight and make myself ready...maybe this weekend will be a good time to have a baby :)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a day....

Yesterday was a day I would rather not repeat. There was not just one single thing, but a combination of things that just wore me out. I had to get to work early to prepare for a meeting that I wasn't really sure where it would go...and had another right before it, so I knew that I needed that time. So Riley and I actually got out of the house on time, which was great- but I forgot my cell phone. I got to work to learn that the first meeting, at 9am, was cancelled, so that gave me a little more time...that was nice. The rest of the day was ok, until Riley's school called at 2:30 to tell me that there was a power outage across the whole campus, and that we would need to come and get her within the hour.

So, I scrambled- I had an OB appt, and Todd was entrenched in a big project at work, so we called Grams and Gramps and luckily Gramps was home (Grams still can't drive), and they were able to pick her up. That worked out really well, and they even agreed to feed her dinner (and me, too)...so off I went to my OB appt. I had to borrow a cell from work- it was dead, so I had to charge it on the way...luckily it was the same as my phone.

Wasn't too happy with the appt overall. I had to have the GBS swab, which is not pleasant and I won't go into details for you :). Then he checked me, and my dilation has not changed (not too happy at this...wish these contractions would actually DO something). Had to listen to him tell me the same story I heard last week about some other patient who had contractions all of the time, like me, who ended up going over her due date...really, really NOT what I wanted to hear....the somewhat good news is that my cervix is definitely lower. Gained 2 lbs, which can replace 2 of the 4 lbs I lost last month!

I drove to my mom's from there...oh, forgot to add....it was 102 degrees outside- and we had a nice dinner where Riley ate her weight in ham!! Then the fun started! We heard some thunder, and it looked like there were some storms all over the county. Just as we were leaving, Todd called and said we were getting hit at home, and to stay put. He said it was lightening and raining a lot, and then the hail started....so we stayed a while, and once he said it was better, Riley and I packed it up and headed home. We got about 3 miles down the interstate and the heavens opened up. Seriously, I have been through some bad storms, but this was *really, really* bad....it was hailing and the rain was coming sideways. I pulled over and so did everyone else, and Riley and I just sat there....for about 10 minutes and waited....it started to let up and then we drove home.

It was NOT fun at all, and we didn't get home until almost 8pm- we had planned to get home around 6:30....I was tired and sore and miserable, and of course, contracting....and think I fell asleep about 9:30!!! I know it could have been A LOT worse, but it was not a nice day, overall, and today has been much, much better :)

Weekend stuff

Whoo-hoo...36 weeks pregnant today!!

We had a productive weekend- finally got the nursery ready- all of the toys moved out, clothes hung up (well, some of them at least), crib all set with bedding and just organized and even vacuumed (Todd did that!) We moved the cradle downstairs to use when we are down there, and the bassinet is in our room, just waiting for a baby! Riley was so cute with the cradle. She has a magic wand, and has been pretending to be one of the magic fairies from Sleeping Beauty. She puts a spell (a good one) on Annie (for pretend, of course), and then gives her a (pretend) kiss...she says she is just practicing. Very cute!

Then we tried to move on to the HUGE mess in the family (bonus) room- but we didn't get too far. Todd rearranged the crawl space, and pulled out more baby stuff. I went through some more baby clothes and found some more little things. We cleared a few more bins for toys....we have SO MUCH STUFF...WAY TOO MUCH STUFF really!!

So, I am pooped. Didn't sleep well last night at all, and I think I kept Todd awake, too, which is pretty hard to do. Not sure what my problem was...just contractions and cramping and really not comfortable. Oh, and it was hard to breathe...baby weight on your lungs is not comfortable!

Anxious for my OB appt today...I predict this baby is coming this week...we will see if he thinks any different. Todd is routing for the 22nd- that is TOMORROW...and my mom wants the 24th, so we will see.....

Quick

Just another quickie post- seems that is about all I have time for lately. Grams and Gramps came over for pizza tonight- so nice not to have to cook! Riley is upstairs with Todd and I need to head up and get her ready for bed or I will not have a nice morning with her!

Still pregnant, obviously...but definately feel that is coming to an end. Had a ton of contractions this morning and started to worry Todd...had three right in a row, right after each other that made me HURT- but then they stopped. Have another OB appt tomorrow- hoping I am more dialated- think that I probably am after this week of contractions!

Just one more quick thing...Riley has an annoying new habit that someone at school taught her- she repeats EVERYTHING we say...you know that game where the person just keeps repeating you...very annoying. She thinks its hilarious...Mommy not so much!!!

Ok- another contraction...when it is over, I am headed upstairs :)

No baby yet

Still here- no baby yet. Had OB appt on Monday, had u/s, Annie has hair!! OB thinks I will go another week or two, I am not so sure :) Dialated 1 cm- that is good. Lost another lb. Makes weigh gain at 19 pounds- wow...Not sure what else to say- Too tired to write much more :)

Going to go lay down and get some rest.

Riley

Today is the baby shower at Todd's work- Riley is very excited. She picked out a special dress and shoes and even asked me to brush her hair! Amazing!

She is still liking her new classroom a lot. Every once in a while she tells us what sort of things they are doing. If we ask her how her day is, she just says fine. But then later, it all comes out! She told me that Ms Kelly has been spending some time with her, one-on-one, which I LOVE, teaching her to read. There is some mermaid book that they are reading together, and she is teaching Riley how to sound out words. The other night, she started showing Todd her new signs- as in SIGN LANGUAGE...holy cow! That is awesome...she can count to 10, and knows a few words! And then...last night, while he was starting her bath, she started count in FRENCH! Jsut for the record, that is English, Spanish, French and Sign Language!!! WOW!!! Totally LOVE this school!!! Today is Share Day, so she brought in her trophy from dance class to show everyone.

Unfortunately, I think she is getting a cold, so she was kind of stuffy this morning...hopefully it is just a quick summer thing- at least she is getting it now, and not when Annie is here!

Oh, and....

Happy 8th Anniversary to me and Todd!!!!!!!!!!!! He just took me out to lunch for Mexican- which I have been craving and it was exactly what I wanted- YUM. Nothing else planned- he is taking Riley swimming tonight, probably, so I will have some quiet time to myself, which will be nice, too :)

Just a few notes...

Well, our fourth of July weekend didn't really turn out as we planned. Riley and I spent most of the 4th with Grams and Gramps- helping Grams recover and Riley did some cheering up, I think :) By the time we got home, I was pooped, and Todd had cleaned the whole house! Karen thinks he is nesting!! Seriously, though, he literally removed the furniture from each room downstairs, dusted, mopped the hardwoods, vacuumed, and rearranged stuff, and built a cool new bookcase for all of Riley's toys. We moved her toys into his office, and organized all of her art stuff so it isnt all over the living room. We threw a bunch of junk away and saved some for Goodwill. He did a great job :) We spent much of Saturday doing the same, and then Sunday, Riley and I headed back to Grams and Gramps house for a little while.

So, it was a sort of busy weekend, but not really the nice relaxing weekend I had in mind :)

Baby Annie is still hanging in there...still having lots of cramping and contractions- I think I have decided that the Procardia really isn't working too much anymore. Still haven't gained any more weight, that I can tell...I have an U/S on Monday to see how she is measuring, so I am excited about that.

Riley has her sibling education class on Saturday, and also a birthday party to attend- at Pump It Up, so she is very excited. Oh, and Annie's Baby Shower at Todd's work is on Friday. Still have a lot to do before this baby arrives- hope she lasts a few more weeks (well, part of me hopes that- the rest hopes she comes soon and puts me out of my misery !!! LOL)

Riley and I had the day off today- her school is closed for the holiday- and we had planned to spend the day with Grams at home while she recovers, but she hasn't been released from the hospital yet, so we had to come up with another plan. If I wasn't 9 months pregnant and it wasn't so hot outside, it would have been easier to find something to do...but I am and it is, so we called Daddy!

We ended up going to the playground for a little while, and then went to Chick-fil-A for lunch. She had a great time and met a little girl at the playground- otherwise, we had it completely to ourselves. She played while I gave family updates to everyone...and then we had a nice lunch. We saw the "Eat More Chicken" cow- you know, the person dressed in the big costume. She didn't want him coming over to her- thankfully he did not- but she had a great time watching him. She played a little on that playground, and then we came home and each had a very nice nap! So far, a nice day. Daddy should be home soon, and we are planning to have a smallish dinner and maybe head to Marble Slab for some ice cream later! YUM- that should help me gain back some weight!

I need to be careful not to overdo it, though, at this point. I am happy with my weight... I guess. I just hope I don't keep losing, but I guess it isn't something they are not too worried about. Baby seems to definately be growing, as witness from this poicture, at 33 weeks:

And I made Todd take this one, too, since I have seen a bunch of other people do it...

I hope this baby doesn't weigh 20 lbs, since I still seem to be ALL BABY...my blly looks huge in these pictures..... :)

All about Riley

Just a few Riley updates- she is doing very well and learning a lot in her new class. She tells us every day what she did, and each week what her new job is. This week she was the weather girl- or maybe the calendar girl- I can't remember! They must really be working on their writing, because she is bringing home notes that she has obviously written, and she and Todd sat down this weekend and did the whole alphabet! Her artwork is becoming more 'real", I guess you could say...you can actually tell what she is drawing, most of the time. Here is an example:

We have had lots of fun with the garden this summer...we had three tomatoes and a TON of hot peppers for Todd. We picked a huge batch yesterday, there are lots more on there now, and it is still flowering! Here is a pic of Riley with our first harvest!

And finally, another thing we have discovered from Riley's school...she knows the Pledge of Allegiance and how to count to ten in Spanish!! Watch for yourself:
