Just another quickie post- seems that is about all I have time for lately. Grams and Gramps came over for pizza tonight- so nice not to have to cook! Riley is upstairs with Todd and I need to head up and get her ready for bed or I will not have a nice morning with her!
Still pregnant, obviously...but definately feel that is coming to an end. Had a ton of contractions this morning and started to worry Todd...had three right in a row, right after each other that made me HURT- but then they stopped. Have another OB appt tomorrow- hoping I am more dialated- think that I probably am after this week of contractions!
Just one more quick thing...Riley has an annoying new habit that someone at school taught her- she repeats EVERYTHING we say...you know that game where the person just keeps repeating you...very annoying. She thinks its hilarious...Mommy not so much!!!
Ok- another contraction...when it is over, I am headed upstairs :)

Riley
Today is the baby shower at Todd's work- Riley is very excited. She picked out a special dress and shoes and even asked me to brush her hair! Amazing!
She is still liking her new classroom a lot. Every once in a while she tells us what sort of things they are doing. If we ask her how her day is, she just says fine. But then later, it all comes out! She told me that Ms Kelly has been spending some time with her, one-on-one, which I LOVE, teaching her to read. There is some mermaid book that they are reading together, and she is teaching Riley how to sound out words. The other night, she started showing Todd her new signs- as in SIGN LANGUAGE...holy cow! That is awesome...she can count to 10, and knows a few words! And then...last night, while he was starting her bath, she started count in FRENCH! Jsut for the record, that is English, Spanish, French and Sign Language!!! WOW!!! Totally LOVE this school!!! Today is Share Day, so she brought in her trophy from dance class to show everyone.
Unfortunately, I think she is getting a cold, so she was kind of stuffy this morning...hopefully it is just a quick summer thing- at least she is getting it now, and not when Annie is here!

Oh, and....
Happy 8th Anniversary to me and Todd!!!!!!!!!!!! He just took me out to lunch for Mexican- which I have been craving and it was exactly what I wanted- YUM. Nothing else planned- he is taking Riley swimming tonight, probably, so I will have some quiet time to myself, which will be nice, too :)
Just a few notes...
Well, our fourth of July weekend didn't really turn out as we planned. Riley and I spent most of the 4th with Grams and Gramps- helping Grams recover and Riley did some cheering up, I think :) By the time we got home, I was pooped, and Todd had cleaned the whole house! Karen thinks he is nesting!! Seriously, though, he literally removed the furniture from each room downstairs, dusted, mopped the hardwoods, vacuumed, and rearranged stuff, and built a cool new bookcase for all of Riley's toys. We moved her toys into his office, and organized all of her art stuff so it isnt all over the living room. We threw a bunch of junk away and saved some for Goodwill. He did a great job :) We spent much of Saturday doing the same, and then Sunday, Riley and I headed back to Grams and Gramps house for a little while.
So, it was a sort of busy weekend, but not really the nice relaxing weekend I had in mind :)
Baby Annie is still hanging in there...still having lots of cramping and contractions- I think I have decided that the Procardia really isn't working too much anymore. Still haven't gained any more weight, that I can tell...I have an U/S on Monday to see how she is measuring, so I am excited about that.
Riley has her sibling education class on Saturday, and also a birthday party to attend- at Pump It Up, so she is very excited. Oh, and Annie's Baby Shower at Todd's work is on Friday. Still have a lot to do before this baby arrives- hope she lasts a few more weeks (well, part of me hopes that- the rest hopes she comes soon and puts me out of my misery !!! LOL)

Riley and I had the day off today- her school is closed for the holiday- and we had planned to spend the day with Grams at home while she recovers, but she hasn't been released from the hospital yet, so we had to come up with another plan. If I wasn't 9 months pregnant and it wasn't so hot outside, it would have been easier to find something to do...but I am and it is, so we called Daddy!
We ended up going to the playground for a little while, and then went to Chick-fil-A for lunch. She had a great time and met a little girl at the playground- otherwise, we had it completely to ourselves. She played while I gave family updates to everyone...and then we had a nice lunch. We saw the "Eat More Chicken" cow- you know, the person dressed in the big costume. She didn't want him coming over to her- thankfully he did not- but she had a great time watching him. She played a little on that playground, and then we came home and each had a very nice nap! So far, a nice day. Daddy should be home soon, and we are planning to have a smallish dinner and maybe head to Marble Slab for some ice cream later! YUM- that should help me gain back some weight!
I need to be careful not to overdo it, though, at this point. I am happy with my weight... I guess. I just hope I don't keep losing, but I guess it isn't something they are not too worried about. Baby seems to definately be growing, as witness from this poicture, at 33 weeks:

And I made Todd take this one, too, since I have seen a bunch of other people do it...

I hope this baby doesn't weigh 20 lbs, since I still seem to be ALL BABY...my blly looks huge in these pictures..... :)

All about Riley
Just a few Riley updates- she is doing very well and learning a lot in her new class. She tells us every day what she did, and each week what her new job is. This week she was the weather girl- or maybe the calendar girl- I can't remember! They must really be working on their writing, because she is bringing home notes that she has obviously written, and she and Todd sat down this weekend and did the whole alphabet! Her artwork is becoming more 'real", I guess you could say...you can actually tell what she is drawing, most of the time. Here is an example:
We have had lots of fun with the garden this summer...we had three tomatoes and a TON of hot peppers for Todd. We picked a huge batch yesterday, there are lots more on there now, and it is still flowering! Here is a pic of Riley with our first harvest!
And finally, another thing we have discovered from Riley's school...she knows the Pledge of Allegiance and how to count to ten in Spanish!! Watch for yourself:
