Annie and I went for her 1st year check up about 2 weeks ago, about 2 weeks after her birthday. She did very well waiting, although it wasn't too long before they took us back. As usual, they measured her- she is still off the charts for height, and then weighed her- think she was around 23ish pounds, about 75 percentile, I think. She is definitely healthy!
Then I asked if they were going to test her blood for hemoglobin- when she was sick a few months ago, they told us her hemoglobin was a bit low, so I wanted to make sure it was ok now. Well, that turned into a bit of a fiasco....the nurse pricked her finger and got the blood, but it took a while, so I think she was a bit flustered and put the band-aid on wrong....when she left, I could see that her finger was still bleeding, so I tried to stop it with some tissue, but it just still kept bleeding. I was in the middle of that (of course, all the while Annie SCREAMING) when the doctor walked it. He took the band-aid off and had to try to stop the blood flowing- it took a while- enough that he asked if anyone in our family had any bleeding issues...but it finally stopped and we put on a new band-aid. Poor little thing was so upset by this point, understandably....she didn't want anything to do with the rest of the visit.
Other than that, she is good to go for another 6 months....we need to try to get her off the last nighttime bottle, which I will work on after we get back from the beach.... :)

Catch up, sort of!
Wow- it's been a while! Sorry about that! We have lots and lots going on here at the Hildebrand household and I am so behind in blogging about all of it. I know you all want to know everything, and I will try to get to it all- Riley starting school, Annie's 1 year check up and stats, our busy month of birthday parties and fun weekends, some illnesses thrown in for good measure....and of course, PICTURES!
Let's take care of some of that now:
A few weekends ago we went to Grace's house for her third birthday- it was a pool party. Riley and Annie had a great time and Kristy shared these wonderful pictures with me from her brother-in-law....enjoy!

Riley goes to school!
So, no problems there....last night we made cookies for her to take for lunch and I packed her lunchbox and her tote bag all up (in K they are not allowed to have backpacks- no room, I think- so we had to buy her a tote bag- as you can see above. The only one Todd could find was black, so we decorated it with a red glitter pen....I am sure it will be the only one like it!!).
So, we had breakfast and all piled into the car....Annie, too! The place was a traffic jam, but we walked her into school and picked a table with one little boy and a little girl who seemed to be having a rough time- she was clinging to her mom....and Riley sat down, started coloring and pretty much said Bye Mom and that was it!! Todd and I shed a few tears- she did not- and then we left! She was so excited to be there- it has been all she can talk about and I can not wait to hear everything this afternoon.
I can not go with Todd to pick her up (sob!), but they are going to call me later....now I have to sit here all day and think about her and what she is doing...

Annie
Tomorrow, my baby is no longer a baby. She will go to sleep tonight little, and tomorrow she wakes up a toddler. It is so weird....she has changed so much in just the last few weeks. There are many times now that I look at her and can see the little girl she is soon to become.I will be writing a one-year update post- hopefully tomorrow- but at least this weekend. There is so much about her that is so special, that I want to share...
One year....really, in the scheme of things- it really is so little time....but a baby changes SO much in that first year especially....WOW! She is now a walking (sort of), talking (sort of), thinking little thing with a real personality....she is my Annie, and will always be my baby!
